It's Back!

Hello all!  I have some exciting news to share:
My Express midi is back! After being sold out for a spell, it's back in stores!
Not only is it back in the black that I have and love, but it is also available in a zebra print and also with a translucent block around the bottom (which they had at Christmas time, but I never managed to find!)
Anyway, get out there and buy one (or three) of these babies before they sell out again!

Here are some photos for your reference! ;)

My awesome and adorable manager at Aldo! Love him.
My black midi (that you've already seen in several posts) is available again!  I got mine about a month ago, but it was the only one left, and wasn't online.  It still is not online, however, they had several sizes in my store again today, so you just might go take a peek tomorrow! ;)
My "Oy Vey" top is from Forever 21 (similar <and cuter, I think!> here and here)
This skirt was at Express around Christmas time this past year and I searched high and low for one for myself, but never found one!  Now it's back!!  And, of course, I don't have the money for it right now. (sad day) :(  But I encourage you to get it so I can live vicariously through you in this skirt that I SO wanted a while back. (Tag me on instagram if you wear it! @mycorporatestyle)
I also saw someone that got this skirt hemmed so there was only about a centimeter of the solid black along the bottom, instead of the 6 or 8 inches - it was also way cute and would be good for petites like myself!

When I heard that my skirt (above) was in zebra at Express (also not online), I just had to try it on!  It's actually what brought me into the store, and then I found out they were available in solid black again and with the translucent block.  A customer came into Aldo wearing it, which is how I found out about it - I think it looked way cuter on her, but I also think that I could wear it better with a colored or black top instead of off-white.
I thought I'd also share a little bit about the shoes I wore today.  They're from Aldo and are very comfortable!  I wore them for nearly 7 hours today, running back and forth getting shoes for people (I work at Aldo).  My feet did get a little sore, but they hurt from the shoes I wore yesterday, so I know these ones weren't the problem. The vibrant, royal blue is a fun hue to dress up some neutrals or neons.  I think it would be cute to pair them with some pink accessories too (think necklace, earrings, handbag, etc), for a few pops of color.  I'd also like to point out the adorable retro-feel they have with the thick heel, which I also think is part of what makes them so comfortable.  The mix of leather and suede is a lot of fun too - it's like 'texture-blocking' instead of color-blocking!

Have a great rest of your weekend, everybody!

Neon Yellow/Green & Pastel Pink

Heels: Michael Kors (similar or here)
Skirt: JCrew
Top: Lululemon (short sleeve here)
Necklace: eBay

Neon and pastel: What a fun combination?  This neon skirt is a recent favorite of mine.  I wasn't certain how the fluted style would look, but I actually find it quite flattering.  This skirt was sold out in every color except for white for a while, but now it's back online!
This pastel pink top is my typical cover-up after hot yoga on cooler days, but I decided to dress it up today.  I was so comfy all day in the ultra-soft Lululemon material.

This necklace went well with today's look, as there is neon that matches my skirt, as well as bright pink that matches my lovely Michael Kors pumps.  It's like this necklace was just waiting for me to create this outfit.  ;)

I'm off to see some old friends from Colorado that are in Iowa this week - woohoo!
Have a lovely evening, wherever you may be.

Leopard & Lavender

fl

Heels: Nine West from TJMAxx (similar)
Skirt: Old from Target (similar)
Ruffle Tank: Old from Loft (similar here or here)
Cardigan: Old from Forever 21(similar)
Necklace/Earrings: Old from Avon (love this one and this one)
Bag: Coach

It's Hump Day!!  And Hump Day of a short week, at that - yippee!  Everything from my outfit is old, as you can see from the list above.  I recently hijacked this necklace and earring set from my mom's closet, where it was sitting collecting dust.  She got it from Avon a long time ago when she was a consultant, but since she doesn't wear it anymore, I made it mine! :)  This tank blouse is also several years old from the Loft.  It's not very comfortable, sadly, because it digs in to the armpits a bit, but since I had a short day today (yippee again!), it wasn't too bad.  My skirt I bought on clearance at Target a couple of months ago and my heels at TJMaxx around the same time.  This outfit has been laid out in my closet for a few weeks, but today I was finally in the mood to actually wear it!

It is insanely humid right now in Iowa, so to avoid my giant hair taking over my surrounding cubicles, I tidied it up a bit with a loose side-braid today.

I always want to match this skirt with a white or black top, but adding color to it makes it more exciting, I think.  I sometimes get nervous to get too crazy with leopard and color, but I thought this lavender complimented it well.  The nearly-pastel ruffles are girly, while the animal print is edgy, so I thought it was a lovely combo.

I hope you all have had a lovely day!

Stripes & Chiffon

Dress: Von Maur
(can be found on Amazon in yellow or Buckle in blue)

After posting this photo on Instagram on Saturday, I received several private messaging requesting information on where to purchase it, so I thought I'd do a post!
This is the first time I have ever tried to wear something with and open back besides when I was a swimmer and I wore Nike Cut-Out Tank Suits, so naturally, I was self-conscious to wear it at first.  However, I've been spending quite a bit of time in the gym, so I thought What the heck? and went for it - and got tons of compliments!
I got mine at Von Maur, where they were willing to match the Amazon price for me (so nice!).  I never pay full-price for anything (except at stores like H&M and Forever 21), so I was glad they have such great customer service!

Stripes are a good, bold pattern that are very popular right now, so I loved the striped bodice.

I also really enjoy the fanning in the skirt portion of this dress.  It's ultra-feminine!

I hope you have all had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day.  I would love to take a second to thank all the men and women who have give the ultimate sacrifice - let us never take our freedom for granted!  I'd also like to thank you to all the men and women who are or have served (including my big bro!!)

Fitting Room Confession

This evening after I got off work, I headed to the mall to say "Hello" to some friends and decided to pop in to Banana Republic to check out the Marimekko collection.  When I saw the collection roll out, I was in love with this "Kivet" skirt:
However, the long version was sold out and doesn't seem to be available online anymore either!
Therefore, I tried on this shorter version:

Sure, it is cute, but the shorter style just wasn't what I was going for.  This was a size 6, and was a little big, so that probably doesn't help either, but I just totally had my heart set on the long version, so this one bummed me out.  It is not a skirt I would consider purchasing.  Apparently I just wasn't quick enough to snag the long version (not that I'm spending money on clothes right now anyway...) Boo!
***********
I am quite envious of @wendyslookbook because she wore the beautiful long version similarly to how I wish I could:

Better luck to all you fashionistas if you're lusting after this lovely skirt!

Denim Thursday by the Water

Shoes: Aldo (sold out, but similar herehere and here)
Striped Top: Old BCBG (similar or here)
Lace Cami: Old from Banana Republic (get a smilar look w/ this)
Jacket: Forever 21 (similar)

My friends at work and I are very excited that the city finally filled the streams with water again.  It means that summer is officially here!  It also makes for much prettier photos.

Today I opted for this neutral OPI polish in "Passion"

You may notice that the only item I was actually able to link to was my jeans.  That is because I'm really trying to go through my clothes from the back of my closet (aka long ago) because I'm trying to save money.  With a wedding in about a year, the strong desire to buy this bike (for $950) and a potential Vegas visit with some friends in the near future, I need to save some money! (Something I've never been good at)  Luckily, with the inspiration of several other instagramers, such as Cara Loren, I've been doing a decent job at rummaging.
My lace cami from Banana Republic is probably 6+ years old and the BCBG tank 3 or 4 (both seldom worn, however).  The striped tank is split almost half way up the back (should have gotten a photo!), but I had it tucked for work.

These shoes, in my opinion, are very pretty.  Read my review about them here.

I wanted to add a close-up of the lace detail on this tank.  It's a very nice, soft lace verus a stiff, scratchy one.  I'm all about comfort, so soft, comfortable camis are a big deal to me!

In case I don't post this weekend, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend and take a moment out of your day to remember all those that we've lost.  God bless!
