Blue Sheath & Black Blazer

Dress: Ann Taylor
Heels: Coach
Necklace: Forever 21 {Similar}
Twist Bracelet: JCrew {Love this one}
Stone Bracelet: eBay {This one's very pretty!}

It's Thursday!  And I'm officially all moved out of my apartment (sigh of relief)!  Today felt like Monday to me all day, so I'd say it's pretty fabulous that tomorrow's Friday already.  One day left, everybody.  We've got this!

Today I wore this wonderfully cobalt sheath dress that I purchased at Ann Taylor this past weekend while in Columbus, OH.  The original price is $139, but I paid a whopping $100 less than that!  Online, it shoes up as $119 with and additional 60% off, which takes it down to $48.  However, if you stop into your nearest store, I imagine you'd be able to get it for the $33 I practically stole it for. :)

This dress is mostly polyester, which a lot of ladies opt out of, however, I love poly.  It's very forgiving and I feel safe in it!  (Safe = nothing is showing that shouldn't be) ;) The only downfall?  Dry clean only... I need to be more cautious when shopping, as I've accidentally been buying quite a bit of dry clean only lately.  But, let's be real; this dress was too good not to get, dry clean only or not!

Details of the lovely chain at the waste.  Very flattering!
Neckline detail: I love how different it is!
Bracelet details (and the fabulous carpet at my company's gym).

On a side note: I was lucky enough to enjoy my lunch break with these fabulous ladies!  All three of us were in Kappa Kappa Gamma at Simpson College together.  I'm a sucker for sisterly love!  Macy (right) and I see each other somewhat frequently, as we live relatively close to one another, but our sister, Emily (left), lives in France now, and has for 3 years!  So it's always a mega-treat to be spoiled with her presence.  :)

Thanks for reading, and have a great Friday!

Pink & Purple in the Workplace

Tank: Express
Blazer: Express (similar)
Flats: Aldo (similar)

Big news, friends!  This reversible tank that I wore here and here is now on sale at Express.  The Barcelona Cami comes in a variety of colors, prints, textures and with lace (I, personally, love the wet look version!).  Anyway, these babies are on sale for $29.99, so now's the time to pounce.  Lots of stores are doing some great "Christmas in July" sales, so go get 'em before July ends this week!  (Oh just where has the summer gone?)

As for the rest of my outfit, this blazer is one of my faves.  I got it on clearance at Express about a year ago and still cherish it.  I find the fit very flattering and wish I could figure out what it was so I could get it in more colors!  Anyway, if you love the look of mine, you should definitely check out this one from Mod Cloth.  It has a similar structure that is flattering and the color is to die for!

Today was my first day back from what feels like 2 months of hectic travel, so I was anxious to get back to a normal schedule.  I officially move out of my apartment on Wednesday (still have some packing and cleaning to do), but after that, I should have smooth sailing for a while, and for that, I am thankful!

Be on the lookout for a collaborative post with Jordan Stumbo (formerly Jordan Sundblad <she just got married! Congrats!!>) from A Grain of Glitter.  It should be up in the near future.

Green & Gold + A Few Other Looks

Wedges: Old from DSW {Brand - MRKT}
Skrit: JCrew
Top: Old from Macy's {Similar}
Watch: Fossil

Happy Hump-Day, friends!  This is my outfit from yesterday, which was perfect, as it's definitely feeling like the middle of summer.  Wearing a skirt was a good call.  The temperature in Iowa was 90-something with a heat index of 110!  Yow!!  If it weren't for the humidity, I'd totally be loving it.  I'm just very glad that it was finally a rain-free, sunny day.

I purchased this top several years ago at Macy's.  The brand is INC Petite.  I love the way it looks, but the sequins can get slightly irritating since they rub when I type.  But, one should always know that anything with glitter or sequins can questionable as far as itchiness.  Oh, the price of beauty! ;)

Bathroom Black and White selfie.

I started listening to the book "Skinny Bitch" as I drove from Des Moines to Ohio yesterday and today. It is extremely funny and mentions things that I think all the time when trying to talk to people about eating healthy.  I'm loving it, and would definitely recommend it!

Orange & Purple Paisleys

Heels: Michael Kors (similar here)
Skirt: ChicWish
Top: JCPenny (similar here)
Necklace: eBay (only $6.99 w/ free shipping!)

Hello, and Happy Tuesday!  So, big news: Joel and I are moving out of our apartment this weekend, so I've been cleaning out my closet.  While going through it, I stumbled upon this orange and purple paisley, button-down top that I got at JCPenny a few months ago.  I've only worn the top once, because I don't love how the bottom fits, but with a skirt, I was able to cover it up!  I'm glad I came across it, as I got tons of compliments on this outfit today.

I love the color of this lipstick from Chanel.  It's very neutral, yet still there.  I love wearing lipstick, but for my 10 hour work days, I'm not always good at touching it up and then I just look silly.  Chanel's Rouge Coco formula stays put and doesn't taste bad - it's a new favorite, and I can't wait to try more colors!

My photographer friend from CMPhotography and I were running back to our desks this morning to get back to work - yes, I can run in heels!

My lesson-of-the-day for you all:  Go through your closet!  You might find some gems that have been buried away that you've forgotten about.  And if you find something you don't think you'll wear again, double-check that you don't have a skirt or something else to wear with it before you donate it!  Otherwise, just donate it.  :)

Wish me luck in moving this weekend!  If I don't write for a few days again, you know why!

Summer White & Pink Details

Heels: Coach
Dress: Banana Republic (not online, but may still be in stores!)
Necklace: Charming Charlie (love this one)
Bracelets: Borrowed from mom and Stella&Dot

After such an awesome holiday weekend, I totally feel like it's summer now!  Therefore, I busted out this awesome Banana Republic LWD (Little White Dress).  I love the fit and material of this dress and would suggest everyone run to their nearest BR store to grab one, as they're already sold out online!  The panelling is a fun detail for this fit & flare dress.  Also, I usually don't pick out cap sleeves because I get self conscious about my arms, but this dress's cap sleeves were totally doable for me.

My office gets very cold during the day and I'm getting pretty sick of my few cardigans, so recently I've been turning to my pashminas to wrap up in and keep me warm when I'm inside.  Pashminas are a classy way to warm up in the air conditioning and, of course, come in every color of the rainbow!  (This one is pink like my necklace - it's difficult to tell because of the lighting on my camera; see below) If you're bored of cardis, grab some pashminas - they can be found for very reasonable prices at some mall kiosks.  If you're patient, you might even check eBay for some great steals.

Post-vacation Monday's can sometimes cause a struggle, so today called for a Caramel Iced Coffee from Starbucks.

You all know I can't wear a fit and flare without twirling!  ;)
If you're in Iowa, I truly hope you're able to stay clear of all these crazy storms and tornadoes!  And if you're elsewhere in the country/world, hopefully the weather is great for you to enjoy.
